"Messyah: a modern re-write of Handel's Messiah by Paul Ayres"
This concert presented the U.S. premiere of British Composer Paul Ayres' amazing re-working of Handel's Messiah, which has been called “fresh, invigorating, thought-provoking and entertaining.” Sanford Dole lead a professional chamber orchestra and chorus in giving the familiar Handelian melodies a fresh feel with new rhythmic settings and harmonic surprises.
